Super Chute Juice

xau foo has posted a new item, 'Super Chute Juice'

recipe from Jason Vale’s site

Ingredients:

  • 2 Golden Delicious or Royal Gala apples
  • small chunk of carrot
  • ½ stick celery
  • 1 large handful of mixed green leaves – watercress, kale, parsley, spinach and whatever other green leafy vegetables that are available
  • 1 inch slice of cucumber
  • ½ inch chunk of broccoli stem
  • 1 small handful of alfalfa sprouts (found in any good health shop)
  • ¼ inch slice of unpeeled raw beetroot
  • ¼ inch slice courgette (zucchini)
  • 1 small piece of lemon – preferably, wax-free lemon with rind
  • ¼ inch slice of ginger
  • 1 ice cube

Directions:

This is named a 'chute juice' named after the Phillips whole-fruit juicer, all you need to do is place one whole apple in the chute followed by all the other ingredients, finishing it off with the other apple. You then simply put the machine on the higher speed and push through. Pour over ice. That's it! That's all!

If you don't have a Phillips whole-fruit juicer, then feed the ingredients in whatever size the juicer will take, although clearly you may need to cut more.

Why this is good for you: Not only is it fun to make this ‘juice sandwich’, but this little baby is packed with calcium, iron, potassium, selenium, folic acid and chlorophyll – the life blood of the plant – and it’s like drinking liquid sunshine.
